Yoga Taster Sessions – Garvald Village Hall

By way of introduction, I have been practising vinyasa and other styles of yoga for several years. In mid-June 2024 I should complete a 200+ hour yoga teacher training course, after which it would be my intention to establish regular yoga classes in Garvald Village hall, if there were a demand for that.  In advance of that and to assess levels of interest I am proposing to run a number of taster sessions during April.  These will be free of charge.

The taster sessions are provided on the basis it is understood I am still a trainee teacher, two thirds of the way through my course, but I do have insurance cover in place.

It would be helpful for planning purposes if people could let me know if they are likely to attend and which class by using the contact form at the bottom of this post. Come along even if you don’t get around to that.

Kirsty

Proposed classes dates and times:

Monday 15th April: Chair Yoga – 10.45 to 11.45.

This class is open to all but is particularly suitable for people who find it difficult to get up and down off the floor. Loose/comfortable clothing should be worn to allow for movement. Please bring a mat if you have one (to stop chair sliding).

If there is sufficient interest further classes will be scheduled for 22nd and 29th April, as part of the taster package.

Tuesday 16th April: Beginners yoga – 6pm to 7pm.

This would normally be taught in a block of 6/8 weeks, focusing on learning basic poses, transitions, and alignments. Please bring your own mat.

If there is sufficient interest a further class will be scheduled for 23rd April, as part of the taster package.

Tuesday 30th April: Vinyasa yoga class – 6pm to 7pm.

Designed for people with some experience of yoga. Vinyasa Yoga is a practice where you smoothly transition from pose to pose, linking movement with breath. It is often referred to as yoga “flow”. You can expect to build strength and flexibility. Please bring your own mat.

If there is sufficient interest further taster sessions of this class can be scheduled in June.
