Plant Sale & Coffee Afternoon Success

Thank you to all who came along today and bought and/or contributed to the plant sale.  So far £116 has been raised for the Village Hall.  There are still some plants available to purchase which have been left outside the hall.   If you would like to buy any of these, please just pop your money through the letterbox at Whitelaws.

Thanks also to those who donated and/or purchased cakes and treats and teas/coffees.  A total of £76 was raised for the Village Hall and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying their refreshments in the sunshine.  A successful day!

Plant sale & coffee afternoon – Sat 18th May

A reminder that the Plant Sale will be this coming Saturday, 18th May at 2-3.30pm, outside the village hall.  Please drop off any donations on the day after 1pm, or in advance to Malcolm at Whitelaws.  Last year the sale was well supported and made £230 for the hall!

Isla Evatt and team will be in the hall at the same time selling teas, coffees and cakes to raise funds for the hall.  Any donations of baking would be appreciated and can also be dropped off at the hall on the day after 1pm or in advance to Isla at Burnbrae.

Thanks

A Successful Sale & Coffee Afternoon

A very big thank you to all who took part in organising and attending the Village Hall Table Sale and Coffee Afternoon on Sunday afternoon.  It was great to see the hall so busy with many people turning up to browse the great variety of items for sale and sample the tasty bakes.

The event was a big success and raised just under £380 for the hall!  We’re sure there will be more of these events to come in the future.

Garvald Village Hall Coffee Afternoon & Table Top Sale

Following the success of the fundraising coffee afternoon a few months back, Isla has decided to host a second on Sunday 8th October, 2-4pm.

We have decided to combine it with a table top sale.  So, if you have some unwanted items that you have been looking to sell on, why not book a table?  Tables will cost £10 with the proceeds going to the Village Hall funds.  Takings from the sale itself will be kept by the seller.

FUNDRAISING TABLE TOP SALE

Baking donations for the coffee afternoon would be very much welcomed.  Please contact Shirley on 830270 if you would like to donate.

Tables for the sale can be booked by calling Sarah on 830334.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Marathon Runners – justgiving link

A little note below from Laura Edmonds who will be running the Edinburgh Marathon, along with her husband Tom, on Sunday 28th May.  Wishing you both the best of luck!!

Laura Edmonds is fundraising for St Columba’s Hospice Care (justgiving.com)

Just popping this here because a few villagers have asked me to share the link.

You might know I’m running my first marathon in less that 3 weeks, and raising  money for St. Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh.  Everyone has been so unbelievably generous and it’s honestly kept me going when I’ve found getting out and running those long runs hard.  Last little push! Already had so much support from fellow villagers, means a lot, so a huge thank you, Laura xx
